Piano Analytics MCP: your data, inside your AI

When you ask an AI about your traffic, it guesses. It doesn’t have your contextual data – so it infers, approximates, and sounds confident about numbers it can’t actually see.

MCP changes that. It connects your AI tools directly to your Piano Analytics account. Ask a question in plain language, and get an answer built on your real metrics — your dimensions, your definitions, your data model.

No more switching tools to answer one question

Without MCP, your process likely looks like this: think of a question, open Piano, find the report, export the data, bring it into AI, explain what you’re looking at. Repeat for every question.

With MCP, your AI queries Piano directly: ask in the same chat where you’re already working, get an answer, and decide what you’d like to do next.

What it fixes: the export loop that turns a simple question into a twenty-minute task.

AI that understands your data, not just data in general

A generic AI connected to raw data still doesn’t know the meaning behind your metrics or how your site is structured. It guesses at your schema and returns something plausible.

MCP gives the AI your Piano configuration natively – your custom dimensions, your event taxonomy, your KPI definitions. The answer it gives back is one your team would actually recognize.

What it fixes: answers that sound right but aren’t.

Build the workflow once and never do it manually again

Weekly traffic summaries. Campaign alerts. Content digests. All of it currently requires someone to run it manually or a script that breaks when something changes upstream.

With MCP, you build the workflow once in N8N, Zapier, or a custom pipeline. It queries Piano on a schedule, surfaces what matters, and sends it where it needs to go. No manual step in the middle.

What it fixes: the recurring work that falls through the gaps when someone’s out.

How to get started

MCP is in private beta. Contact your CSM or KAM to request access. Once whitelisted, setup takes five minutes: a Piano Analytics account with API keys and Node.js installed.
